United States Much Safer to Live in Than Other Countries

What would you think if you went to see your doctor for a medical problem
and he quickly tried to indoctrinate you about gun control? Such a scheme to
involve doctors, thought up by an anti-gun group, recently was brought to
light by people who found themselves disagreeing with their doctors.
However, most of the media and some medical authorities find nothing wrong
with this movement and actually cheer it on.

The movement greatly slowed down when patients told these same doctors
that they were looking for other health-care providers. It then died a
surprisingly quick death when doctors from the Leiden University in Holland
published amazing data discovered by the university’s International Crime
Victims Study.

They found that countries with the strictest gun control laws have the highest
levels of crime. On a list of the top 10 countries where people were victimized
by violent crimes, Australia led with a 30% crime rate, followed by England at
26% and Canada at 24%. Proudly, the United States didn’t make this list.

Australia, by the way, also led industrialized nations in rates of burglary with
entry at 3.9%. Denmark was second at 3.1%, and England and Wales were tied
at 2.8%. The United States was at 1.6%. There’s a reason for all of this: It’s
illegal to own a firearm for self defense in Australia, for example, so predators
are assured that the homes they break into will not be defended by a home owner
with a gun.

In addition, Denmark, Australia, and France rank among the top 10 countries in
car thefts. Again, the United States didn’t make the list.

The Australian government banned guns and confiscated thousands of them a
few years ago. In Britain, private ownership of handguns was banned in 1996.
Nonetheless, the rate of violent crime in both countries has skyrocketed.
